The National Insurance Commission has inaugurated an office complex for the Central Region. The inauguration of the office means that issues relating to insurance claims will be dealt with at the regional level without necessarily having to travel to the Accra.
Located at the UCC Cooperative Credit Union Building Complex, it is poised to serve the need of customers through education and sensitization on the need for individuals to sign on to insurance policies.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Omanhene of Oguaa traditional area Osabarima Kwesi Atta II charged authorities of the insurance company in the region to collaborate with other road user agencies to sensitize road users on the need to stay disciplined.
“I wish to encourage you to assist as you are already doing,” he said.

He added” I also wish to urge you to encourage opening of new insurance companies in the region to create employment for the indigenes as well as improve supervisory and regulatory roles.”
The Oguaa Omanhene went on to appreciate the National Insurance Commission for opening an office in the region.
Meanwhile the Commissioner of Insurance Dr Justice Yaw Ofori in an interaction with the media said, the National Insurance Commission has earmarked series of activities aimed at improving on the knowledge base of the public on insurance. According to him these activities when fully implemented, will go a long way to harnessthe potentials of the commission achieving its goals.
“Society needs a lot of education and confidence on insurance. We believe that when society is well educated in insurance it has a multiple effect,” he stated.
He disclosed the Commission is collaborating with Ghana Education Service to have insurance at the secondary schools on a non-scoring basis so that they can introduce insurance to SHS students before they go through University.
According to him, doing all these will let people understand the need for insurance.
