On Friday, an Accra Circuit Court convicted two individuals to 18 years in jail each for conspiracy and theft.
They are Emmanuel Koomson, a 25-year-old motorcyclist, and Derrick Nyarko, a 21-year-old laborer.
The two individuals robbed a taxi driver of GHC270 after pulling a knife on him, the complainant, Mathew Norgbetey at Sakumono.
After a hearing, the judge, presided over by Mrs Priscilla Dapaah Mireku, found them guilty of the charges brought against them.
Nyarko left the courthouse after the hearing, and the judge convicted him in his absence.
According to the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Denis Terkpertey, the complainant, Mathew Norgbetey, is a taxi driver who lives in Sakumono, while Koomson lives in Tema Newtown.

According to the prosecutor, on November 21, 2018, at approximately 0200 hours, the plaintiff was employed by Koomson and Nyarko to drive from a place identified as Shallom in Lashibi to Tema Newtown, Bankuman.
According to the prosecution, when the convicts arrived at a location near a church building in Bankuman, they requested that the plaintiff pause for them to alight, which he did.
Nyarko immediately alighted and leaned against the driver’s door to deter the complainant from exiting the vehicle, according to the prosecution.
Koomson even pretended to take money from his pocket to compensate the defendant, according to the indictment.
Koomson, on the other side, drew a knife from his pocket and demanded that the complainant hand over all of his money, which the complainant did out of terror, and the two bolted.
The defendant was at work at Shallom Spot Taxi rank on November 25, 2018, about 1330 hours, when Koomson and Nyarko came begging for fuel to operate their motorcycle, according to the indictment.
He said that when the complainant saw them, he raised an alarm, and Nyarko was apprehended with the assistance of some drivers, but Koomson fled.
Koomson and Nyarko were detained by the Police Patrol unit on November 23, 2018 at about 0100 hours for carrying offensive guns, including two knives and a metal pole, according to the prosecution.
They were given Police enquiry bail on November 25, 2018, according to the indictment, but when they returned to the police five days later, they were re-arrested for robbing the complainant.
