A 23-year-old house girl was fined 12,000 Ghana Cedis for stealing her master’s gun and 15 rounds of ammunition.
In the event that Shellter Fiagbor fails to appear, she will be sentenced to five months in jail.
However, her accomplice Charles Serwonu, a Gardner and Driver, is still on the loose.
At the close of the hearing, an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mrs Evelyn Asamoah found Shelter guilty of Stealing and sentenced her accordingly.
Shelter and Serwonu were also charged with theft and conspiracy to commit fraud.
Shelter and Serwonu were hired as a house girl and a gardener by the accused, Mr Narinderpal Singh Sethi, the Managing Director (MD) of STEELCO, in Tema, according to Police Inspector B. Benneh.
Shelter and Serwonu were residents of Ashaiman, but later moved to live with Mr Sethi, a businessman, in his house in Roman Ridge, Accra, according to Inspector Benneh.

The two stayed in different houses, according to the prosecution, and only Shelter had access to the complainant’s home.
Mr Sethi left Shelter in the house about 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019, and returned two hours later, according to the court.
When Mr Sethi came home, the two accused persons had fled the building, according to the prosecutor.
Mr Sethi discovered his HK P30 pistol with 15 rounds of nine millimetre ammunition priced at GHC 13,550 cedis had been robbed while doing his night tests.
Mr Sethi filed a complaint at the Kotobabi Police Station on September 2, 2019, after Shelter and Serwonu were not found at their Ashaiman home, according to Police Inspector Benneh.
Shelter was later apprehended in Agbozume, Volta Region, according to the prosecution, but she denied knowledge of the seized weapon in her police testimony. As a result, she was awarded police investigation bail.
According to the prosecutor, as the police were attempting to apprehend Sewornu, Shelter called the police and informed them that Serwonu, who was still on the loose, had agreed to return the gun to them.
Shelter told the police on September 17, 2019, that she had discovered the pistol in Serwonu’s room, and the police went to retrieve the weapon, according to Inspector Benneh.
