The bodies of 12 teenagers have been retrieved from the Apam beach in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
According to the PRO of the Central Regional Police Command, DSP Irene Oppong, the police got noticed of the news around 5:30pm Sunday 7th March 2021 by a complainant Kwame Akono whose 15 years nephew, Joshua Annor had drowned together with other children.

A police report by the Central Regional Police command confirmed to ATLFMNEWS that, the teenagers had gone to have fun swimming at the beach when they were hit by a heavy tidal wave that drowned them.
According to a report by the Central Regional Police command together with the DCE organized a search party and retrieved 12 bodies amongst which only two were alive.
The two victims who were rescued alive, Simon Dadzie and Godfred Appretsie are currently on admission at the Apam Hospital. The dead bodies have been deposited at the Apam District Morgue for autopsy. Police investigations is still ongoing.
