GOIL PLC has announced a fresh round of fuel price reductions at selected service stations across the country, positioning the move as a targeted intervention to ease transportation costs and cushion households amid improving economic conditions.
Under the latest pricing window, petrol (PMS) has been reduced to GH¢9.99 per litre at 150 GOIL outlets nationwide, down from GH¢10.99. The adjustment marks the first return to single-digit petrol prices in nearly a decade, a milestone welcomed by transport operators and commuters.
Diesel (AGO) prices have also been cut at the designated stations, now selling at GH¢11.21 per litre, compared to the previous GH¢11.96.
The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of GOIL PLC, Edward Abambire Bawa, said the decision to apply the reductions at selected locations was strategic, rather than across all outlets.
According to him, the stations benefiting from the new pricing regime are those situated close to commercial vehicle terminals, transport corridors and high-traffic routes, which play a critical role in the movement of people, foodstuffs and essential goods.
“This intervention is designed to ensure that the benefits of recent macroeconomic improvements are passed directly to commuters, transport operators, traders and consumers,” Mr Bawa said in an engagement with the Daily Graphic.

He explained that lowering fuel prices at these high-impact locations is expected to help reduce transport fares, cut the cost of moving food items from farming communities to urban markets, and ultimately contribute to moderating food prices across major towns and cities.
Mr Bawa added that the pricing adjustment had been made possible by improving economic fundamentals, including easing inflationary pressures, increased macroeconomic stability and growing confidence in the economy.
He also noted that GOIL’s action aligns with its responsibility as a national oil marketing company to support broader socio-economic objectives, especially during periods of economic recovery.
“These conditions have created room for businesses like ours to pass cost savings on to consumers in a meaningful way,” he said.
GOIL reaffirmed its commitment to responsible pricing, efficient operations and strategic interventions that positively affect the daily lives of Ghanaians, encouraging commercial drivers and transport operators to take advantage of the reduced prices at the designated stations.
The company said it remains focused on delivering “good energy” while supporting national efforts to stabilise prices and improve living standards.
