The Campaign Spokesperson for Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwasi Kwarteng ESQ., has revealed Ken Agyapong’s plans to transform religious institutions into hubs for entrepreneurship if elected President of Ghana.
He said this initiative is part of broader efforts to create more business opportunities for Ghanaians. and aims to foster entrepreneurship
According to Kwesi Kwarteng, the proposal aims to foster entrepreneurship and build a lasting relationship between religious-based institutions and government.
He argued that many religious institutions already possess necessary infrastructure such as offices, leadership structures and small-scale enterprises which Ken Agyapong’s administration could leverage on generate more job and stimulate economic growth.
In an Interview on UTV on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, he said “Imagine if a church like the Presbyterian Church could recruit just 10 people for such an initiative. You could have four individuals operating the machinery, four handling packaging, and others managing distribution.”
“We envision every faith-based institution, including mosques, becoming active players in entrepreneurship.”
He believes such collaboration should go beyond spiritual gatherings – it should empower members economically.
“By leveraging existing structures within these institutions, we can reduce unemployment, stimulate economic growth, and ensure that members benefit directly from these efforts,” he added.
