Director of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Badu Sarkodie has revealed that Ghana is at the peak of its coronavirus crisis.
Ghana’s coronavirus case currently stands at 2,719 with 294 recoveries and 18 deaths.
Speaking at a Press briefing at the Ministry of Information in Accra Tuesday morning, Dr Badu Sarkodie said with the cases being tested so far “clearly, we seem to be as a country at the peak and we are fit to decline, that is the observation now”.
He was however quick to indicate that the declination will depend on the level of adherence to the various preventive steps that have been enumerated”. He said the country is “not off the hook yet.”

On his part, minister of health Kwaku Agyemang Manu admonished Ghanaians to adjust their lifestyles to suit the current situation as government and experts continue to play their role in managing the spread of the virus.
“We need to first of all make our minds that our way of life, the way we live is going to change for a long time to come. So we need to begin to advise ourselves…we have to change our way of life.”

This, he notes, can be achieved if citizens adhere to safety measures such as the observance of social distancing, washing of hands regularly under running water and wearing of face masks.
