Alhaji Karim ‘Grusah,’ the owner and bankroller of King Faisal, has cast doubt on the newly constituted Black Stars Management Committee, naming only Dr. Randy Abbey and Moses Armah as capable of delivering results.
Following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in two decades, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) unveiled a five-member committee tasked with overseeing the national team.
Dr. Randy Abbey will serve as Chairman, with former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah as Vice Chairman, responsible for player relations. Matchday operations will be handled by Samuel Aboabire and Moses Armah, while Dr. Richard Nsenkyire has been assigned special duties related to the team.
However, in an interview with Onua FM, Alhaji Grusah voiced skepticism over most of the appointees, expressing confidence in only Dr. Abbey and Moses Armah.
“When Randy Abbey was at Hearts of Oak, he didn’t accept defeat easily. That was where he made his name,” Grusah remarked. “When he joined the Ghana Football Association, he spoke his mind because he had the knowledge and experience.”

Grusah further praised Randy Abbey’s leadership at Heart of Lions, crediting him for guiding the club’s return to the Ghana Premier League. He also commended Moses Armah, the owner of Medeama SC, as an exceptional administrator.
However, the outspoken football administrator was less optimistic about the other members. While acknowledging Stephen Appiah’s dedication as a player, he criticized the former captain for withdrawing from the previous Black Stars management committee and failing to attend meetings.
Regarding FC Samartex President Dr. Richard Nsenkyire, Grusah was skeptical about his ability to translate domestic league success to the national team level.
“Winning the Ghana Premier League does not automatically mean you will succeed with the national team,” he argued. “I can only give him the benefit of the doubt because I don’t know what else he has done.”
Reflecting on his past encounters with Nsenkyire, Grusah added: “I was in the same Division One zone with him. He knows me, and I know him. What he needs to understand is that at the Black Stars level, you can’t intimidate opponents with your supporters.”
Grusah was also blunt in his assessment of Samuel Aboabire, the Greater Accra Regional FA Chairman, stating: “He can’t do anything. He is my kid.”
With the wounds of Ghana’s AFCON qualification failure still fresh, Grusah’s remarks add fuel to the ongoing debate on whether the newly appointed committee has what it takes to restore the Black Stars to their former glory.
