Postecoglou Aims for Spurs Turnaround Before Manchester United Game

Tottenham has a full week to get ready for their important match against Manchester United. Manager Ange Postecoglou wants to make the most of this time before Sunday’s game. But there’s still talk about his future as the team has hit some tough times this season. Postecoglou Seeks Spurs Revival.

Things got worse for Spurs after a bad 72-hour stretch where they lost in both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Their latest loss to Aston Villa, 2-1, was their tenth in the last 20 games. The team was missing 11 key players during that match. Despite Postecoglou defending his squad, the pressure on him keeps building.

Injury Issues and Team Changes

Injuries have really hurt Tottenham. Key defenders like Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, and Cristian Romero haven’t played together since October 30. Other key players like James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, and Dominic Solanke have also been out recently.

With a packed schedule of games, the small group of fit players has struggled. Some first-team guys are expected to come back this week, but Postecoglou is still under a lot of scrutiny.

Making the Most of This Free Week

Postecoglou knows this week of preparation is rare and important. When asked about it, he said:

“I’m just going to keep on working like I have.”

He mentioned resting the players who have been on the field a lot lately. On the other hand, those coming back from injury will get a full week of training, which they haven’t had in a while.

“By Tuesday, we should have three or four players back. Giving them a full week of training instead of just a couple of sessions will help,” he added.

Postecoglou hopes that by the end of the week, his team will be in better shape for the upcoming matches. He also pointed out that another free week next week can help them get stronger before more busy games.

Postecoglou Faces Pressure

This isn’t the first time Postecoglou’s job has come under question. There were similar worries after losses to Everton and Leicester. Right now, Tottenham is sitting in 14th place in the league. Meanwhile, Manchester United, their next opponent, is also having a tough season. But changes in management don’t always fix things right away.

Despite their struggles in the league, there’s still hope for Spurs. They have a Europa League match in March, but they need to improve their league performance first.

Players Stay Positive

Mathys Tel, one of the new signings and a teenager who played against Aston Villa, is hopeful about the team.

“Honestly, we’re sad about the result, but I know the quality of my teammates and the staff, so I believe in the team,” Tel said.

He knows they need to improve and have a stronger mindset before facing United.

“I’m not scared about the future. We’re playing against Manchester, and we’re going to do a job. A lot of players talk in the dressing room, and we have to be better. We have to do much more.”

With a week to regroup and key players coming back, Postecoglou and his team hope to turn things around and boost their Premier League season. Postecoglou Seeks Spurs Revival.
