FA Cup 4th Round Predictions: Insights from Ex-Socceroos

Aston Villa vs. Tottenham (Monday, February 10, 4:35 AM)

Tottenham comes into this match after losing in the EFL Cup. They’re facing Aston Villa, which is a big deal for them. Coach Ange Postecoglou needs to get a win. Oar thinks Villa will be tough to beat at home. McDonald isn’t sure about Villa’s focus because they want to play in Europe. Both think Villa will take the win.

Everton vs. Bournemouth (Sunday, February 9, 2:00 AM)

Everton faces a strong Bournemouth team at Goodison Park. Even though Bournemouth is higher up in the league, McDonald thinks Everton can pull it off with David Moyes back. Oar sees a more open game but still thinks Bournemouth will win. McDonald feels the crowd’s energy will help Everton push through.

Brighton vs. Chelsea (Sunday, February 9, 7:00 AM)

Brighton comes into this game after a bad 7-0 loss to Nottingham Forest. They’re up against a solid Chelsea team. Oar points out that Chelsea has a deep squad and believes Brighton will struggle. McDonald agrees and expects Chelsea to take control.

Manchester United vs. Leicester (Saturday, February 8, 7:00 AM)

Ruud van Nistelrooy returns to Old Trafford with Leicester looking to cause an upset. There are concerns about which Manchester United will show up since they’ve been inconsistent. Leicester, who have lost a lot lately, needs a win to kick-start their season.

Leeds United vs. Millwall (Saturday, February 8, 11:15 PM)

This is a heated rivalry. McDonald mentions the exciting atmosphere and long history between the two. The past games have been high-scoring. Leeds usually does well at home, but Millwall can be a tough opponent.

Birmingham City vs. Newcastle United (Sunday, February 9, 4:45 AM)

Newcastle, fresh off an EFL Cup final appearance, faces Birmingham, who leads League One. Bridges thinks an upset could happen since Birmingham is playing well. But Newcastle wants to win the FA Cup, and their star player Alexander Isak will be key.

Leyton Orient vs. Manchester City (Saturday, February 8, 11:15 PM)

This match is expected to be lopsided. Manchester City will play Leyton Orient from League One. Oar doesn’t see Leyton causing any trouble, given City’s talent and depth. Guardiola’s team should win easily.

Plymouth vs. Liverpool (Monday, February 10, 2:00 AM)

Liverpool, the top team in the Premier League, takes on a struggling Plymouth. McDonald says it depends on who Liverpool plays. If they change their lineup too much, Plymouth might get chances. Still, Liverpool is the favorite.

Doncaster vs. Crystal Palace (Tuesday, February 11, 6:45 AM)

Doncaster is looking to take advantage of Crystal Palace’s shaky form. Oar thinks Palace could struggle a bit if they rotate their squad. Still, Palace is stronger, and Doncaster will need to play really well to win.

Exeter vs. Nottingham Forest (Wednesday, February 12, 7:00 AM)

McDonald sees this match as a chance for an upset. Nottingham Forest might not put out their best team since they want to finish high in the league. Exeter could find an opening if that happens.

Stoke vs. Cardiff (Sunday, February 9, 2:00 AM)

Both Stoke and Cardiff have had their moments in the FA Cup but are not doing well in the Championship. Ex-Stoke goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is worried about his old team but hopes they can make a cup run.

Coventry vs. Ipswich (Sunday, February 9, 2:00 AM)

Players like Massimo Luongo and Cam Burgess are set to represent Ipswich, with Raphael Borges Rodrigues possibly playing for Coventry. Oar believes these players need to step up due to their limited time in the Premier League. FA Cup 4th Round Predictions.

Southampton vs. Burnley (Sunday, February 9, 2:00 AM)

Southampton has been struggling and will meet Burnley, who is aiming for a Premier League spot. McDonald says a win would lift Southampton’s spirits. Oar argues that they should focus on staying in the league.

Preston vs. Wycombe (Sunday, February 9, 2:00 AM)

McDonald is picking Wycombe for this match because they’ve been strong in League One. But with their manager leaving for Luton, Wycombe might shift their focus.

Blackburn vs. Wolves (Sunday, February 9, 11:30 PM)

Blackburn has been good in the Championship, but Wolves are getting better under Vitor Pereira. Oar sees an improvement in Wolves’ play, and McDonald thinks Matheus Cunha will be important. Both think Wolves will win.
