Mr. Fiifi Boafo, the communication director for the NPP running mate has reiterated Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh’s plans to collaborate with traditional councils and religious organizations to drive development in Ghana.
During his visit to Nungua, Dr. Prempeh emphasized that while politicians are dedicated to the country’s development, traditional councils, being well-informed about their communities, are equally capable of fostering growth.
“Chiefs, as custodians of their lands, know the core needs of their people and how best to meet them,” he said.
Mr. Boafo clarified that Dr. Prempeh does not intend to coerce chiefs into aligning with the NPP, instead, he believes that chiefs can champion local development without being partisan.
“Development in this country cannot be brought about by politicians alone. Chiefs are key factors as they are very knowledgeable and capable in ways to bring about development,” Mr. Boafo stated.
Highlighting the contributions of religious organizations, Mr. Boafo noted their role in establishing universities, schools, and hospitals, urging continued support for these organizations to further their developmental efforts, aligning with Dr. Prempeh’s vision.
“If we have these religious organizations ready to help, why not encourage them to do more so we can develop our country together with the political class?” he added.
