“If I speak on this video now, you will say I hate men”.
Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson
She expressed her pain as often people have the penchant to critique her remarks against men or rather slut shame the 14 year old victim for allowing it.
“You will ignore that this man openly bragged about sleeping with a 14 year old on air. You will instead focus on my outrage; or make it the 14 year olds fault for allowing this. Ok” she explained.
Lydia Forson is noted to be a strong advocate of women’s right and in 2022, she criticized netizens who felt feminists hate men after her good friend and fellow feminist, Bridget Otoo finally got married.
In a post on X, she explained her concept of feminism, questioning why many feel when a woman champions women’s rights, she is deemed as a man hater.
“I really want to understand how so many people came to the conclusion that women who’re vocal on issues, esp about women’s rights, hate men? If I’m talking about Kwesi beating his wife, how does that mean because I hate what Kwesi is doing I hate men?”.
