Gospel singer Ohemaa Mercy revealed how, a few years ago, she almost stopped enjoying her yearly concert, “Tehilla Experience.”
In an interview with KMJ for Joy Prime’s Prime Morning program, she said that she nearly put an end to the event following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 due to the difficulty in persuading sponsors, as businesses were reluctant to provide funding.
The pandemic prevented the event from taking place in 2020. However, when the team decided to organize the 2021 edition, things got difficult, and she almost gave up on her ministry.
She related how Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu (KOKA), an entertainment critic, stepped in to rename her esteemed yearly event.
“I actually gave up, and God brought one great personality, KOKA into my life,” she told KMJ.
Her understanding of the significance of gospel pastors being receptive to the viewpoints of others who might not be spiritually inclined toward the Bible was expanded as a result of this.
She exhorts her colleagues in the gospel fraternity to listen to everyone because she thinks that these individuals are able to express the same message that the minister of God may be anticipating.
“I called him and wanted to talk about my vision and what we want to rebrand the Tehillah Experience. Then I said, But I know I cannot do this one, and I’ve given up even on ministry, and he said, No, Ohemaa, your ministry is so big; you don’t see what we see out there, and he actually encouraged me.”
Everyone else tried to help but couldn’t, she added, with the exception of KOKA, who approached businesses and got sponsorship for the performance.
The gospel singer sincerely thanked KOKA for his invaluable assistance throughout her difficult times in reviving the Tehillah Experience, which has touched many people’s lives over the years.

She also thanked Andy Favoured, CEO of Gospel 360Africa, and Felix, her designer, for being by her side no matter what.
One of Ghana’s most well-known gospel events, The Tehillah Experience first appeared in 2015 and has contributed to the spiritual development of the majority of gospel enthusiasts.
She stated that extensive planning is being done by the team to enhance and expand the 2024 edition. They are excited to share their stories and have an even greater influence on others as she commemorates twenty years in ministry with her new song, “Dry Bones.”
