Artist Sista Afia has expressed her dissatisfaction and anger at the Ghana Music Awards organizers for continuously disregarding her hard work and efforts by excluding her and failing to nominate her.
The Jeje singer expressed her inability to accept her treatment in relation to the awards program and inquired in a recent Facebook post if she had upset anyone at the “high table” of the organizers.

She revealed that she has even noticed that certain artists do not submit nominations but still receive them, while she is not given the same chance even if her contributions to the year in question amply demonstrate her ability to warrant a consideration.
She wrote: “Have I offended someone at the high table Ghana Music Awards ?? The fact that Asuoden was a big song in 2021 Zero nominations which I still don’t get. I learnt people don’t even file for nominations but get nominations, the downplay on my efforts ever since I started doing music in Ghana hasn’t been fair to my craft.
“And yes it hurts because I work soo hard. I’ve been quiet for soo long because I have respect for the scheme and I dont want to step on no one’s toes!(sic)”.
Many of her followers who left comments on the post supported her in her claims and urged her to keep up her good job and not slack down.
Sista Afia, whose real name is Francisca Gawugah, made her musical debut in 2015 with the song “Kro Kro No,” which featured Bisa Kdei.
But it was her song “Jeje,” which featured dancehall artists Shatta Wale and Afezi Perry, that really made her famous.
Since then, she has released other singles, such as Champion Atta, Asuoden, Weather, Slay Queen, Maradona, and Paper.
