Actor Kofi Adu, also referred to as Agya Koo, has pushed the nation’s filmmakers to reduce graphic sex scenes and the amount of insults used in speech.
In an interview with Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, he voiced his worries about the representation of explicit sex in movies, pointing out that it has a negative effect on society values, especially for younger audiences.
Agya Koo emphasized that kids watch these films a lot and that they could be influenced by graphic scenes and quickly pick up bad habits like insulting others.
He cited instances from other film industries, such as Bollywood, in which love relationships are hinted at rather than overtly shown.
The Kumawood actor also related an incident in which Otumfuo Osei Tutu II approached him and conveyed his displeasure with the amount of profanity and explicit material in Ghanaian films.

Agya Koo said to have regularly counseled filmmakers against engaging in such behavior out of concern that it might sway viewers toward foreign films.
The actor informed Kwame Dadzie, the host of the show, that he encountered resistance in the profession as a result of his campaign.
Agya Koo acknowledged facing opposition, but he was appreciative of the help he got from certain filmmakers who understood his worries.
He reaffirmed his dedication to advancing the sector and urged his peers to stand with him in promoting more conscientious content development.
