In a gesture that can only be described as pride for his African lineage, popular Ghanaian rapper Black Sherif has invited Black Diasporans to return home to where they are kings and queens.
The hitmaker of Kwaku The Traveller gave an emotional speech after winning Best International Flow at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2023. He talked about his modest beginnings at Konongo Zongo and how, despite his lowly beginnings, he is optimistic that his music will one day become popular all over the globe.

The main message of his speech, which has now gone viral, was when he sternly urged the predominately Black audience to rediscover their African ancestry.
“And don’t forget, remember you are kings and queens back home. Come back home,” Black Sherif said.
The current VGMA Artiste of the Year emphasised how much belongingness awaits those who chose to return home.
He stressed that Ghana was known for its vibrant culture, historical significance, and friendly hospitality and that they will have a wealth of cultural experiences when returning home.
In addition to his message to the diaspora, Black Sherif took the opportunity to thank his family, team, and devoted supporters all across the world for their unwavering support throughout the years.
He understood that their support was critical in realising his aim of winning the Best International Flow award at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2023.
Black Sherif is no stranger to BET. Last year, he was nominated for “Best International Flow,” but he did not win.
He came back stronger this year, beating out Aka (South Africa), Central Cee (UK), Gazo (France), J Hus (UK), K.O (South Africa), Major Rd (Brazil), Ninho (France), Sampa The Great (Zambia), and Tasha & Tracie (Brazil).
