The Ghana Police Service says it has recorded pockets of incidents, including an alleged incident of an individual shooting into the air during the Assin North by-election.
However, the Police clarified in a statement that no person or vehicle has been shot at within the constituency.
Also, all the recorded incidents are being investigated, and some suspects have been arrested and are in custody assisting the Police with their investigations.
The Police have deployed adequate personnel throughout the constituency to ensure security, law, and order for the remaining period of the election and beyond.
The Police urged all stakeholders to redouble their commitment to work with them to ensure a peaceful end of the by-election.
Meanwhile, the Police have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring adequate security measures are in place before, after the election.
The Police have also reiterated the need for the public to avoid spreading false information on social media that could lead to a breach of peace and assured that they would take the necessary action against anyone found culpable.
