Police say they have recovered a body of a male adult at Bamahu a suburb of Wa in connection with the recent murder cases being witnessed in the vicinity.
The body was found by the Special Purpose Intelligence and Investigation Team of the Ghana Police Service as part of their surveillance on the night of 19th September 2022.
The police in a statement on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, said after the necessary crime examination, the body was removed and deposited at the Regional Hospital in WA awaiting autopsy.
“A pathologist from the Police Hospital is leading a team to Wa as part of the investigation into the incidents,” the statement continued.
According to the police, intelligence gathered so far suggests that there may be more than one person involved in this heinous crime.
As such the police say they will do whatever it takes to get the persons involved arrested to face justice.
“We continue to urge anyone with credible information that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators to come forward and share with the police. In line with this, a reward of GHC 100,000 has been set aside for anyone who provides information in that regard,” the statement added.
A suspect, Kankani Adongo, who was arrested on September 19 is currently in police custody assisting with the investigations.

The police say they will continue to maintain law, order, and security in WA municipality and its environs.
The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare together with some members of the Police Management Board and the Upper West Regional Police Command are currently on the grounds at WA embarking on patrols in the Municipality.
