The 42-year-old driver, Godwin Bayor alias Yaw who was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman has been granted bail in the sum of GHS 20,000 with two sureties after pleading not guilty to charges brought against him.
The suspect is facing charges of assault contrary to Section 84 of Act 29/60 and causing unlawful harm contrary to Section 69 of Act 29/60.
Arraigned for the first time before the Cape Coast Circuit Court Two presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Veronique Praba Tetteh, Godwin Bayor pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to April 4, 2022.
The 42-year-old driver at the Aggrey Memorial Senior High School in Cape Coast was captured in a viral video assaulting a woman in Cape Coast.
The DOVVSU Unit of the Police Service in Cape Coast said the victim, Josephine Benerita was attacked and beaten by her ex-boyfriend Godwin Bayor a.k.a Yaw without any reasonable cause.
