The Apam District Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old teacher for allegedly beating his wife to death at Apam in the Central Region.
The suspect, Isaac Tsemenu Sarsah is reported to have locked his 38-year-old wife, Linda Amoah Lamptey also a teacher by profession in their room and beaten her till she fell unconscious.
The suspect bolted after he committed the act which according to the police occurred on Friday, 11th March 2022.
The police indicate that on arrival at the scene of incident, they were informed that, a neighbor of the two had rushed the victim to the Apam Catholic Hospital.
“Enquiries were extended to the said hospital but the police were told the victim had died at the emergency ward,” said the police in their report to the media.
The body of the deceased Linda Amoah Lamptey has been deposited at the Apam Catholic Hospital Morgue pending autopsy.
Currently, the suspect is in the custody of the police after he was arrested from his hideout.
