Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has been arrested by officers of the Ghana Police Service, for allegedly faking his own gunshot incident that caused a lot of worry and tension in the country.
In a Facebook post on the official Facebook page of the Ghana Police Service on 19th October 2021, it confirmed the arrest of Shatta Wale and some other accomplices who are believed to be part of his management team who formed a core part of this social media prank.
Reports indicate that Shatta Wale turned himself into the Police Service after the Police mounted a manhunt for him and declared him wanted after pulling up that fake shooting incident together with his road manager, popularly referred to as Nana Dhope.
“He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic,” the post indicated.

On Monday 18th October 2021, there were reports rife that a Prophet, Prophet Jesus Ahuofe had allegedly prophesied that a Reggae dancehall musician in Ghana, whose name commences with Charles would be shot dead like that of South African reggae musician, Lucky Dube who was killed in a similar fashion on the same day.
In tandem with that, the ‘Melisa’ hitmaker also feigned to be shot and had his two accomplices whom according to the same police report on their Facebook page have also been apprehended for spreading false story that claimed that Shatta had been shot and subsequently rushed to the office, which according to the Police, was tantamount to causing fear and panic.
In a viral video, the founder and leader of New Life Kingdom Chapel International noted that Shatta Wale would lose his life on October 18, in a similar to that of South African reggae artiste, Lucky Dube, who was shot on October 18, 2007. It is against this background that Shatta Wale also planned and executed the fake shooting incident.
