Manchester United’s Pricey Buy-Back Plan
Fabrizio Romano shares that Manchester United might try to bring back Alvaro Carreras, a former player who moved to Benfica. They have a buy-back deal for €18 million (about AU$30m). This news comes as they struggle to land Lecce’s left-back, Patrick Dorgu, who has a price tag of €40m (AU$66m). Carreras, only 21, joined United from Real Madrid in 2020 but never played for the first team. He’s been loaned out to a few clubs and Benfica picked him up for €6m (AU$10) in May 2024. If United wants him back, they’d have to pay around three times what they sold him for.
Chelsea Players on the Move
Chelsea could lose three players before this month concludes, according to the Daily Mail. Defender Renato Veiga wants to join Juventus, who are close to a loan deal. Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei is also rumored to be heading to Italy, with Lazio making an £11.5m bid (AU$22m). And Ben Chilwell might also leave, as Everton is eyeing several Chelsea players.
Premier League Rivals Target AC Milan Star
Aston Villa and Newcastle United are ready to compete for AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, as reported by Football Insider. Both teams want to boost their defense, and Tomori’s spot at Milan seems uncertain. The former Chelsea player hasn’t been getting much playtime this season after joining Milan permanently in 2021.
