A Former Energy Minister, Mr. Boakye Agayrko has admonished students to learn something new every day as the world is not static.

He emphasized the importance of daily learning, urging students to make it a habit to learn something new daily, reminding them that the world is constantly evolving.

Mr. Ayarko noted that continual learning not only enriches individual lives but also benefits others, as knowledge and self-improvement can have a positive ripple effect across communities and society.

Reflecting on Mfantsipim’s rich legacy, Mr. Agyarko, a distinguished alumnus of the school, praised the school for its strong tradition of building character and fostering moral excellence among its students, calling these qualities central to the institution’s mission.

He stressed that moral character, when combined with competence, creates a powerful force for good, but warned that competence without character can be dangerous, saying there is nothing more dangerous than a learned thief.

Speaking at the 148th Anniversary and Speech and Prize Giving Day of Mfantsipim School, the Former Energy Minister encouraged the Mfantsipim community to look forward, urging them to think beyond the 148 years of the school’s legacy and focus on the next century.

He underscored the importance of setting long-term goals to ensure that student development remains a top priority and that the school continues to shape future generations with the same dedication to excellence that has defined it for nearly a century and a half.

Dr. Alex Boateng Atakorah, Chief Operating Officer of the Technical and Logistics Group and an alumnus urged the school to lead in equipping students for the modern world.

He challenged the school to embrace a forward-thinking approach, advocating for a curriculum that emphasizes entrepreneurship, the arts, digital literacy, and leadership.

He believes that these areas are essential to fully empower students for success in today’s dynamic and competitive global landscape.

Dr. Atakorah highlighted that true educational excellence goes beyond academic grades adding that it includes nurturing the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and act with a sense of social responsibility.

In his view, these skills are as vital as academic achievement, as they enable students to navigate real-world challenges and contribute meaningfully to society.

He also underscored the transformative role of technology in shaping modern education, urging the school to integrate digital tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) into the curriculum.

According to Dr. Atakorah, these cutting-edge technologies can equip students with essential 21st-century skills, ensuring they remain competitive and well-prepared for the future. His remarks called on the institution to leverage the ongoing digital transformation, positioning students to be innovators and leaders in a technology-driven world.

The 1994-year group of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA 94) supported by MOBA 64, MOBA 74, MOBA 84, MOBA 04, and MOBA 14 made the anniversary exclusive.

Scores of students who distinguished themselves in various fields including academics, sports, and entertainment were recognised and awarded for their exploits accordingly.

Master Godwin Egyir was adjudged the scholar of the year after bagging 8As in the 2023 WASSCE and emerging as the best Maths, Physics and Technical Drawing student.
