Harry Stacey and Joselle Mensah, Ghanaian swimmers, have been granted wild card entries to compete for their country at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
World Aquatics granted spots to two promising athletes based on their outstanding performances, notably at the 2023 African Games.
Abeiku Jackson, despite being expected to qualify, was unable to secure a wild card entry as he had already utilized this opportunity for the 2016 and 2020 Olympics.

Harry Stacey, presently Ghana’s top-ranked male swimmer according to the World Aquatics Point Table (2024 edition as of June 23, 2024), has qualified to compete in the 100m freestyle event. He achieved an entry time of 50.67 seconds at the Africa Aquatics Swimming Championships held in Luanda, Angola.
Joselle Mensah, Ghana’s top-ranked female swimmer, has secured her spot in the 50m freestyle event. She earned her qualification with an impressive entry time of 26.52 seconds, achieved during the 13th African Games held in Accra, Ghana.
Both athletes demonstrated their potential at the African Games in March, narrowly missing out on medals. However, Harry Stacey proceeded to clinch his inaugural medal for Ghana at the CANA African Championships in Angola.
As they make their Olympic debuts, Harry and Joselle are poised to leave a lasting impression on the global stage in Paris.
