The Mamprobi Gale Community Library will host the Akra Book Party, a unique literary offering by Read Ghana Read Consult, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in honor of UNESCO World Book Day. The event will commemorate the artistic, academic, and economic significance of books in national development.
This mini book festival will include a number of fun activities with the main goal of highlighting the enjoyable aspects of books. These include dramatic reading, read and play, read and bounce, an inter-schools puzzle contest, author-reader connect, read aloud with icons, read aloud while blowing up a balloon, and a reading carnival.
One of the highlights of the Akra Book Party is a bookdate with the renowned singer Amandzeba from Ghana. He will read aloud and have a conversation with attendees throughout this session. A few of the legend’s songs will also be performed during this portion.
The day will also feature “a book-art experience with Dede Padiki (of GWR Paint-a-thon fame)”, a book reading with renowned journalist Selma Alhassan, an audio book discussion with Ama Dadson, and an author and book exhibition.
