Nana Akuffo addo in his address tells Ghanaians to observe social distancing.
President Nana Akufo Addo has announced that his government will this year undertake a huge Infrastructural development in health across the country.
President Nana Akuffo Addo in his eighth televised address to the nation Sunday evening said the Coronavirus had revealed the unequal distribution of health facilities in the country.
In this regard Nana Akuffo Addo aims to construct 88 hospitals in some 88 districts across the country. He said the new facilities are expected to be completed within a year. They will include ten in Ashanti, nine in Volta, nine Central , eight in Easter, seven in Greater Accra, seven in Upper East ,five in Northern, five in Oti, five in Upper West , five in Bono, four in Western North ,four in Western , three in Ahafo , three in Savannah , two in Bono East and two in North East Region.
He said the new hospitals will be hundred bed facilities each with accommodation for nurses, doctors and other health professionals.
The President also mentioned that additionally six new regional hospitals will be constructed in the newly created regions and also a renovation of the Western Regional hospital. President Akufo –Addo also gave the indication that some new laboratories are going to be established in all 16 regions in the country as well as beef up the existing ones to aid in testing of the Covid 19 , the President said government will soon establish three new infectious disease control centres in the northern, middle and coastal zones of the country.

Ghana currently has 1,550 confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 155 recoveries and 11 deaths as of April 26, 2020.
