At the Africa Cup of Nations, Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus expressed his dissatisfaction despite being awarded man of the match in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw against Mozambique.
Despite Kudus’s outstanding performance, Ghana’s hopes of winning were dashed by Mozambique’s late rally.
Kudus told reporters, “I’m very disappointed; we really wanted this victory, but it wasn’t to be,” in a somber tone. We are really disappointed by that.” The West Ham sensation, who had a similar problem against Egypt, blamed a lack of focus for Ghana’s inability to sustain their two-goal lead.

Kudus, considering the philosophical side of the game, said, “We showed lots of qualities here but losing focus at the end cost us,” acknowledging Ghana’s overall quality in the tournament despite the loss.
The disappointment of the draw persisted even though Kudus’ outstanding performances served as a bright spot in Ghana’s difficult AFCON campaign.
Even though he was awarded man of the match, the emerging star didn’t take much comfort in the individual award.
