Patrick Amenuvor, a photographer and content creator from Ghana, has formally halted his bid to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest-running marathon by a single person.
He began the voyage on January 14, 2024, in the GEM church located in North Legon, and was slated to continue until Sunday, January 21, 2024.
In a statement, Patrick explained that he had decided to give up because of several errors he had made that could potentially “sabotage his efforts to break the record.”
Some “unforeseen electrical outages and technical complications that disrupted the event during the specified period” were the cause, according to his management.

Nonetheless, the photographer reaffirmed his resolve to shatter the record, saying he would soon announce a new date for his attempt.

His effort comes after recent ones by Afua Asantewaa Aduonum and Chef Faila, who separately sought the GWR for the longest solo singing marathon and the longest solo cooking marathon.
Both are waiting on official word from the Guinness World Record regarding their achievements.
