Prosper Narteh Ogum, the head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, has chastised club supporters for abandoning the team during these difficult times.
He made this statement during a news conference where he discussed a number of concerns impacting the team, such as players who have become politicians on the team and “senior, experienced” players who aren’t improving their game.
Following Kotoko’s 1-0 loss to Dreams FC, which ended the team’s four-game losing streak in the BetPawa Premier League, supporters of the team recently jeered and threatened to forbid players from exiting the stadium.
During the press conference, Dr. Ogum urged supporters to support the squad in a different way, particularly now that the team is having difficulties.

“We are not winning or we are creating chances, we are not scoring so you turn against your own team. When you do that, you are not helping the boys.”
“Once chances are being created, once you can see that these players are playing according to a particular pattern and that nobody is actually playing as an individual player but they are making the effort to play as a team, you support them.”
