To commemorate his success, Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus had a mural of him painted on the streets of Nima.
The artwork depicts his joy after scoring one of Ghana’s three goals in a 3-2 World Cup victory over South Korea.
Mohammed Awudu, an international graffiti artist, painted the mural because he feels the player’s journey to success is an encouragement to the neighborhood and fresh talent in the region.
Former Accra Mayor Nii Adjei Sowah, Dr. Afua Asabea Asare, CEO of Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Rabiu Maude, a youth activist, and kids and other residents of the region attended the unveiling.

Kudus grew up in Nima, an Accra suburb, and began his football career there before joining Strong Tower.
The 22-year-old then joined the Right to Dream Academy, where he was later developed and signed by FC Nordsjaelland of Denmark.
Kudus secured a transfer to Ajax Amsterdam in July 2020, where his performance has piqued the curiosity of numerous big teams.
The Black Stars attacking midfielder is presently in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He further gained the world’s attention after his brace against South Korea moved Ghana to second position in Group H ahead of the final game against Uruguay on Friday, December 2.
