Ghana has been identified as one of 37 new countries whose fully vaccinated citizens can enter the United Kingdom without restriction.
When fully vaccinated Ghanaians enter the UK from 4:00 a.m. on Monday, October 11, they will be treated the same as fully vaccinated British citizens.
“Also announced today, from 4 am Monday 11 October, eligible travelers vaccinated in over 37 new countries and territories including Brazil, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Turkey, will also be treated the same as returning fully vaccinated UK residents, so long as they have not visited a red list country or territory in the 10 days before arriving in England.”
These were announced by Grant Shapps, the UK Secretary of State for Transport, and Welwyn Hatfield MP.
It follows a review of travel restrictions imposed in the UK as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The red list of countries – those with high Covid-19 cases – has been shrunk from 54 to seven: Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela.
South Africa is one of the nations that has been taken off the list.
Coronavirus is still a significant health concern in the United Kingdom.
Despite this, 49.1 million of its people have been vaccinated. The country’s daily rate is 40,701 cases.
