A man believed to be in his 70s was on Wednesday morning shot in the leg by four suspected armed robbers while trying to transact a business at Coronation Junction in Cape Coast.
The four men on two separate motocycles are reported to have followed the man from a bank to a hardware store, where he was going to buy some construction materials.
According to eyewitnesses, the robbers charged on the man after he had exited the building to go into his car which resulted in a scuffle. This infuriated the men resulting in one pulling out a gun to shoot him in the leg and bolted with his money.
Police have since rushed to the site, and the victim has been taken to the Ewim Polyclinic in Cape Coast for treatment.
Meanwhile, when ATL FM NEWS got to the scene of the incident, the Police investigative team had cordoned the area and were taking forensic evidence.
