Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the immediate past Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, has disputed the President’s decision to transfer the reading of the 2021 budget to the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.
Mr. Ofori-Atta, Finance Minister-designate who has been seeking medical attention in the United States since struggling with COVID-19 complications has not yet be vetted.

Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu will be placed in a situation that he will have to comment for a budget that he did not plan, according to him.

“We will ask questions. We will have to debate it. He will answer to all the issues that we will raise with the budget.”
“If he is the one going to read before us and present the budget to us, he should be ready to answer the questions as well,” Mr. Forson said.
According to previous sources, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Trades and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen were being considered for the budget delivery.
