Amorim made eight changes to the squad that had comfortably beaten Athletic Club 3-0 in the Europa League just days earlier. Despite a promising start and early control, things quickly unraveled. “This match really summed up our season,” Amorim admitted after the game. “We started well, but we struggled with their set pieces and throw-ins.
