President John Dramani Mahama has kickstarted his West African diplomatic tour with a high-level bilateral meeting in Ouagadougou with Burkina Faso’s Interim Leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
Held on Monday, March 10, 2025, the meeting marks President Mahama’s first official visit to Burkina Faso since taking office in January following his electoral victory in December 2024.
The visit highlights Ghana’s renewed commitment to fostering regional cooperation, with a focus on security, trade, and diplomacy within the ECOWAS sub-region.
President Mahama received a warm reception upon arrival, signaling strong historical ties and mutual respect between Ghana and Burkina Faso.
