Former Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer sees it differently. He believes the FA Cup means more to teams like Newcastle, who have struggled to win trophies for a long time.
It matters more for clubs like Newcastle, who haven’t won in ages or at all before, he explained. That’s special; it’s a whole different situation.

Still, Schwarzer thinks that winning the FA Cup would give United fans something positive to hold on to.
Last season was tough for United, but winning the FA Cup was a bright spot, he said. If they win it again this year, it could be the highlight. It might change how people feel and give hope for next season.
