K.T. Hammond, the former Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa, has initiated legal proceedings against broadcaster Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, for alleged defamatory remarks made during a televised broadcast on Onua TV.
The lawsuit, filed in the wake of the December 7, 2024, elections, revolves around claims that Captain Smart and his co-host accused Mr. Hammond of making tribal comments.
According to the defendants, Mr. Hammond questioned how an individual of a different tribal descent could win the Adansi Asokwa parliamentary seat in the Ashanti Region—a claim the former legislator vehemently denies.
