Zirkzee Loan, Gyokeres Signing tops Wednesday’s Paper Round, as Manchester United’s newly appointed head coach Ruben Amorim is keen to bolster his roster with Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres, while sending Joshua Zirkzee out on loan in January. Beyond Old Trafford, England’s national team faces challenges due to Thomas Tuchel’s delayed arrival, which has led to player withdrawals. Meanwhile, Brighton has undergone restructuring, resulting in the departure of several scouts from their ranks.
According to the Daily Mail, Ruben Amorim is thinking of bringing Viktor Gyokeres over from Sporting, while Manchester United is willing to transfer Joshua Zirkzee on loan in January.
The 23-year-old Zirkzee, who cost £36.5 million to acquire from Bologna in the summer, did not perform well under Erik ten Hag and might not see much playing time under his new management.
The former Bayern Munich player has only scored one goal in 17 games since joining the team, the Mail continues.

“And it appears that Amorim, the new manager who moved to Manchester on Monday to take over, is also not very fond of the Dutchman.”Gyokeres, the standout player for the Portuguese team, is rumored to be eager to join the former Sporting manager at Old Trafford.
“Zirkzee would struggle for minutes and might end up being the club’s third-choice center forward if that is the case.”
The timing of England’s withdrawals is attributed to Tuchel.
According to the Daily Mail, Thomas Tuchel’s tardy arrival as the new head coach has been blamed for the eight departures from the men’s England squad.
There is no urgency to impress the new manager in the forthcoming Nations League games, thus Premier League clubs are reportedly privately blaming Tuchel’s decision to not take over in the New Year as the reason why a number of players have pulled out.
Aaron Ramsdale, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, Declan Rice, and Bukayo Saka have all left.
“Mail Sport is aware that at least two of the withdrawals are preventative measures rather than due to injuries that would prevent their participation,” the Mail continues.
Brighton dismiss scouts
Brighton & Hove Albion has undertaken a significant restructuring of its scouting department, dismissing most of its full-time recruitment scouts, according to the Telegraph. Despite the club’s successful recruitment history, which has generated over £200m in player sales, owner Tony Bloom is shifting focus towards data-driven identification. Three full-time scouts have been let go, with others potentially reassigned. However, insiders emphasize that data analysis will not dominate the recruitment process. The club acknowledges the departing scouts’ excellent work and plans to make new appointments, returning the recruitment staff to near its original size.
