Due to outstanding bills owing to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), 91 hospitals are about to be disconnected from the national grid by the power distributor’s National Taskforce.
Collectively, the various healthcare institutes around the nation are indebted to the tune of GHc261 million.
Several medical centers will experience blackouts within two days of getting a “demand notice,” according to data retrieved by Citi News from the ECG.
Renowned hospitals that could be cut off include Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the 37 Military Hospital, Ridge Hospital in the Greater Accra region, Komfo Anokye and Manhyia Government Hospitals in the Ashanti region, Ho Teaching Hospital in the Volta region, and Kibi Government Hospital in the Eastern region.

The ECG is stepping up its efforts to collect overdue consumer cash in order to bolster its operating capacity.
Notable institutions such as the Accra Sports Stadium, Parliament, and Accra Academy have lately been impacted by such circumstances.
