The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana, represented by David Agboado, has said that the organization has put a stop to the upcoming increase in transportation costs that was revealed on Monday, March 4.
A statement released by the Transport Operators Union and the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana announced a 30 percent increase in transport fares starting Thursday, March 7.
During an interview with Alfred Ocansey on TV3’s Ghana Tonight program on Tuesday, March 5, which ATLFM NEWS monitored, Mr. Agboado stated that the association had summoned its members to comply.

All the unions are currently in discussions with the transport ministry to finalize plans for agreement on the proposed increment.

“In fact, the way they did it yesterday [March 4 release] took us by surprise,” he said.
Three executives have been suspended in connection with the March 4 press release, as reported by Agboado.
Transportation costs will increase by 30% starting on March 7.
The speaker emphasized that commuters should not anticipate any increase in their transport fares starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 7, 2024, stating, “They made the decision independently, and it has been put on hold.”
Agboado suggested that transport fares would be going up in the upcoming weeks.
“There will be increment but not on the 7th of March,” he emphasised.
He mentioned that a forthcoming update regarding a potential increase will be shared with all parties by the following week following the current discussions.
