The first Minister of Youth and Sports in the Fourth Republic was the late ex-Member of Parliament for Ningo-Pampram, who held the office during the periods of late ex-President Jerry John Rawlings.
During the National Democratic Party’s administration, the Honorable E.T. Mensah also served as minister of employment and social welfare. After exiting the legislature in 2016, he was also a part of the council of state.
He is admired for having contributed significantly to Ghanaian sports in the 1990s, a time when the young national teams achieved great success on the world stage.
