James Kwasi Appiah, the former head coach of the Black Stars, has submitted his third application to lead the technical team.
Following Otto Addo’s resignation after Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is still looking for a new head coach.
Appiah is rumored to have applied for the open position of head coach, which would allow him to make a third trip back to the dugout.

The 62-year-old recently stated on Joy Sports’ Prime Take that if the Ghana FA made the position available, he wouldn’t hesitate to apply.
And ATL Sports is aware that the former player has submitted his resume for the position of the future national team coach.
Appiah’s first stint with the Black Stars was between 2012 and 2014 before also coming back in 2019 where he led the nation to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Earlier this week, the Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, hinted the Ghana FA are close to appointing a new head coach with the 2023 AFCON qualifiers close to resumption.
Chris Hughton is also reported to be in the running for the job as well.
