The Sam Jonah Library team was crowned the overall best team in the 2022 UCC Staff games after clinching 3 golds and 2 bronze medals .
The competition that is organized annually within the University Community to ultimately create fitness among the staff of the University ended successfully after seeing the staff competing in different games.
The sports section of the University introduced seven different competitions (Ludo, Thug of war, Draught, Ladies penalties, Ampe, Volleyball and Football) in this year’s Staff games.

About 15 teams consisting of Directorates/Colleges/Schools and Halls participated in this year’s competitions. The games saw about four groups (A,B,C,D) with some of the groups having 5 teams and others having 4.
After the competition that lasted for about 40 days (20th June to 29th July, 2022.), Library won the most medals with 3 golds and 2 bronzes, Security had 2 golds, 2 silvers, Basic School had 2 golds, 1 silver and1 bronze, Finance/Audit also won 1 silver and 2 bronzes. Directorate of Physical Development and Estate Management (DPDEM), College of Distance Education (CoDE), and Registrar’s Office all had 1 silver medal each with Directorate of University Health Service having 1 bronze medal.
