Last Tuesday, the 11-year-old girl whose father reportedly sought to use her for money rituals joked with her mother that her father was going to use her for sacrifice.
This jovial incident occurred on Tuesday [May 31, 2022], three days before the girl was picked on Friday [June 3, 2022] for the purported money rituals at Oyibi in Accra.
Her mother had just told her that she had just spoken to her father on the phone, and the father had repeatedly inquired if she was called Yaa, a Thursday born.
After she affirmed many times, her father claimed he would come get her on Thursday and ended the phone call.

The mother then questioned her why she felt the father would continuously inquire whether she was Yaa, and why she had decided to come pick her up on Thursday.
The 11-year-old girl then joked with her mother that her father could be using her for money rituals because the Thursday he had scheduled the appointment was a soul day for Yaa – the Akan female name for individuals born on Thursday.
They both laughed heartily over the narrative and went to bed that night.
This is what the girl’s mother informed GTV during a broadcast interview from her house near Amasaman in Greater Accra, which was monitored by Graphic Online.
