The Ghana Health Service (GHS) is urging the public to be on the alert of a possible nationwide rise in measles cases.
The Greater Accra Region has so far recorded 2 confirmed cases of measles and two confirmed cases of Rubella.
A release issued by the Acting Ga North Municipal Director of Health Services, Dr. Maame Yaa Nhyira Essel, also urged all health facilities and municipal public health staff to strengthen detection of suspected cases across all levels and intensify education and routine immunization with measles- Rubella vaccine to all eligible children.
She said Ghanaians must be extra cautious and be on the lookout for the signs and symptoms of the disease which includes dry cough, runny nose, sore throat, etc.
