The Denkyirahema Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III has called on all people with Denkyira descent to come together to help unite and develop the Denkyira kingdom.
The call was made when the Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia commissioned the newly built Boa-Amponsem Palace at Jukwa, the traditional capital of the Denkyira’s in the central region.
The rebuilt Palace was, through the initiatives of Denkyira Traditional Council under the leadership of the Acting President, Daasebre Oduro Akenten II, Denkyirahemaa Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III, and the Abusua Panyin Nana Pamfo Agyemang III, to replace the old dilapidated one at Jukwa.
The commissioning also coincided with the launching of a commemorative book on Odeefuo Boa-Amponsem III and the announcement of the final journey of the late Odeefuo Boa-Amponsem III.
Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III said the development of the Denkyira Kingdom hinged on the contribution of every indigene.
She added saying “Let us not see this event as the burial of our father or uncle but let us seize this opportunity to be the rejuvenation of our kingdom united to set off on a new path.”
She further stated that the gathering to see a new dawn in the history of the Denkyira Kingdom is significant to its progress and prosperity.
Relatedly, a similar ceremony was held at Dunkwa-On-Offin, the administrative capital on Friday 4th March, 2022 to commission palace christened Amponsem fie.
The Palace was built in 1948 and this is the first major rehabilitation and facelift that the palace has seen.
