Captain for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, Vincent Aboubakar has leveled Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo’s record at the previous AFCON.
Nigeria forward, Ighalo scored a total of five goals to win the golden boot in 2019.
In just three games, the captain of the host in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations has extended his lead with a strike against Cape Verde at the 39th minute.
The former FC Porto skipper has had a great performance since the start of the tournament. He scored a back-to-back brace in the opening game and their second encounter before making it five today.

Aboubakar has helped Cameroon to seal a place in round 16 of the competition, going unbeaten in three games to top the group with seven points.
Aboubakar opened the scoreline for Cameroon at the 39th minute through his magical shot from a long range.
Cape Verde came out strongly and fought back for the equalizer with Garry Rodrigues’ 53rd minute goal.
On the other, Burkina Faso also held to Ethiopia with same scoreline.
On the table, Cameroon topped with 7points, Burkina Faso and Cape Verde are tie with 4points whiles Ethiopia ended with 1points.
