Bishop Stephen Kwesi Appiah of the New Life Kingdom Chapel, widely known as ‘Jesus Ahuofe,’ has been granted bail.
Jesus Ahuofe was arrested after predicting that Shatta Wale, a dancehall artist, will be killed on October 18, 2021.
He was later accused of instilling fear and panic. He pled not guilty, however, and was subsequently remanded in prison custody for five days.
Before his release, Jesus Ahuofe’s wife and lawyer criticized his detention, saying that the Police should not have imprisoned him for more than 48 hours.
Fake gun attack
Shatta Wale was shot by unknown assailants on the evening of October 18, 2021, according to reports.
Shatta Wale, on the other hand, apologized to his followers in a long Facebook post on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, stating he had lied about the incident.
He said he made the post using the phones of his team members.
Shatta Wale referred to the prophecy that he will be assassinated.
According to Shatta Wale, he was astonished that the security agencies were unable to provide him with protection after the prophecy.
Remand
Shatta Wale and three other accomplices were also put into prison custody for a week and are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
Shatta Wale pleaded not guilty to the allegation of spreading false information and inciting fear and panic.
His co-conspirators, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator, have been charged with aiding and abetting a crime.
They both pled not guilty to the charge as well.
