The University of Cape Coast has defeated six universities in Ghana to win the 2021 National Tertiary Statistics Quiz Competition.
The six universities that participated to the battle for the trophy included Takoradi Technical University, CK TEDAM University of Technology and Applied Science, Accra Technical University, University of Cape Coast, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and the University of Ghana.
The University of Cape Coast garnered 43 points with Takoradi Technical University emerging second with 33 points and KNUST taking the third position with 29.5 points.
The University of Ghana placed fourth with 24 points followed by Accra Technical University with 22 points and CK TEDAM University of Technology and Applied Science with 21 points.
The Competition which was held on Saturday, October 2, at the University of Cape Coast focused on just ended population census, basic statistics, basics of regression, Matrix, and Frequency table among others.
It was organized by the Women in Statistics, Ghana (WIStats, Ghana) which is an affiliate of the Ghana Statistical Association seeking to promote Ghanaian women in statistics through advocacy, education, and research.
