Flood victims across the Central Region are set to receive emergency relief items after the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) completed the allocation of supplies to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies for onward distribution.
The allocations form part of NADMO Ghana’s nationwide emergency response to support communities affected by the recent floods.
Regional officials say the exercise is intended to ensure relief items reach affected households quickly and fairly.
Relief Allocated to All MMDAs
The Central Regional office of NADMO distributed relief allocations to all Metropolitan, Municipal, District and Sub-Metro offices across the region.
According to the Regional Directorate, the allocations were based on verified flood assessment data to ensure equitable distribution among affected communities.
Officials said the process was conducted transparently with the participation of key stakeholders.
Leaders Oversee Distribution Process
The allocation exercise was witnessed by the Central Regional Minister, the Political Coordinator at the Central Regional Coordinating Council (CRCC), the Chief Director of the CRCC, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, Coordinating Directors, as well as NADMO Directors and their deputies from across the region.
The Regional Minister, who also chairs the Regional Disaster Management Committee, directed district offices to distribute the relief items strictly in accordance with established operational procedures.
